Mitralstenose

Mitralklaffen befinner seg mellom venstre forkammer og venstre hjertekammer. Etter gjennomgått giktfeber opplever noen at klaffen forkalkes, åpningen gjennom klaffen innsnevres og det kan over tid utvikles hjertesvikt.

Mitralstenose er nesten utelukkende forårsaket av giktfeber.
