Nekrotiserende bløtvevsinfeksjon

Vanligvis oppstår nekrotiserende bløtvevsinfeksjon svært raskt, sprer seg hurtig og kan bli livstruende i løpet av timer til dager. Tilstanden omtales av noen som "infeksjon med kjøttetende bakterier".

Nekrotiserende bløtvevsinfeksjon er en bakterieinfeksjon i underhudsvevet. Ulike bakterier kan forårsake tilstanden. Oftest skyldes infeksjonen bakterier fra gruppen beta-hemolytiske streptokokker, Gruppe A -streptokokker (GAS) tilhører denne gruppen.
